Case study: MoCAT, building a digital foundation for a transformation brand

A training company sells one thing above all: credibility. Before anyone books a workshop, they look the brand up. What they find in those five minutes shapes the conversation that follows. When MoCAT, the Motivational Centre for Africa’s Transformation, needed a digital home that could survive that scrutiny, the work came to MEM.

The challenge

MoCAT is a Lusaka training and transformation company led by Gilbert Banda. Its work spans personal development, workplace AI, digital transformation and corporate training. The audience is professional, the offer is serious, and none of it was visible online. The brand needed a web presence clear enough for a first-time visitor and deep enough for a decision-maker comparing providers.

The approach

MEM designed and runs MoCAT’s digital presence, anchored by the website at mocat.zm. The work covered three layers.

  • Structure: a site organised around what MoCAT does and who it serves, so a visitor reaches the right programme without digging.
  • Content: a clear statement of the focus areas and the thinking behind them, written for professional readers rather than search engines.
  • Ongoing support: a website is a living thing. MEM continues to run and maintain the digital side so the site keeps pace with the business.

The design brief underneath all of it was restraint. Transformation training promises change. The website had to promise it credibly, without noise, gimmicks or jargon.

The result

MoCAT now has a digital foundation that matches its on-the-ground work: a structured home for its programmes, a voice consistent with its mission, and support that treats the website as an asset to maintain rather than a project to abandon. The measure of the craft is deliberately unglamorous. The site loads, the information is current, and a first-time visitor understands the brand within one scroll.

For MEM, the project reflects a broader truth from our consultancy work. Good web development is not decoration. It is infrastructure for trust, and the same discipline we apply to learning platforms applies to a corporate presence: understand the audience, remove friction, keep it working.
