Today we are introducing Teacher T, our AI teacher-support tool, built for the Zambian classroom rather than adapted to it.
What Teacher T does
Teacher T drafts lesson plans and classroom materials aligned to the Zambian Competency-Based Curriculum, the CBC. A teacher describes what the lesson needs: the grade, the subject, the learning outcomes. Teacher T produces a working draft structured around the curriculum the teacher is actually teaching, not a generic template with the curriculum’s name pasted on top.
Then the most important step happens. The teacher takes over.
The workflow, in plain terms
- The teacher inputs the lesson requirements.
- The AI drafts the lesson plan or classroom material.
- The teacher reviews, edits and approves the output.
- The approved document exports to DOCX or PDF, ready to print, share or file.
Nothing reaches a learner without the teacher’s approval. That is not a footnote in our terms of service. It is the product.
The export matters more than it might sound. Teachers work with printed plans, filed records and shared documents, so the tool ends where the teacher’s world begins: on paper or in a file the teacher controls.
Why we built it this way
Generic AI tools can produce a lesson plan for anyone, which is another way of saying one that fits nobody. Zambian teachers need drafts that speak the CBC: the competencies, the structure and the expectations of the curriculum they teach and are assessed against. That is what Teacher T is built for.
Our principle has not moved since we began building AI support into The Teacher’s Village: teachers remain at the helm; AI supports, never replaces. The judgement, the knowledge of the learners in the room and the responsibility for what happens next stay with the professional who trained for them. Teacher T takes the drafting hours off a teacher’s evening. It does not take authority out of a teacher’s hands.
